As of the creation of BS8612 in 2018, all new build projects require dry fixings for ridge, hip and verge systems instead fo the previous wet cement based fixings.
Dry fix systems can be retrospectively installed but would usually require the primary roof covering to be removed in that area. It would be best to consult the Ubbink Technical Team for installation advice for retrospective installs.
The key benefit of using an ambi-hand product comes when purchasing the product as the left and right units do not have to be quantified. It also reduces the risk of the incorrect handing being fitted on site.

The Ubbink dry verge has an integral water drip channel within the unit to minimse the risk of water staining.
To meet BS5524, use the batten bracket and mechanically fix the ambi hand into the batten bracket for a secure and compliant fix.
The dry fix kit has been desigend to last the lifetime of the roof, assuming it is installed in accordance with manufacturers' fixing instructions.

To comply with the high level ventilation requirements in BS5250:2021, the Ubbink dry ridge kits offer a free area ventilation rate of 5,000mm²/m.
The dry fix kits is installed onto the ridge batten using stainless steel mechanical fixings that are supplied within the kit. Manufacturers' fixing instructions should always be consulted before any install.
Yes both have been independently tested by BRE and meet the British Standards BS5250 and BS5534
Every ridge kit comes complete with, 13 Flexible ridge unions, 26 Ridge Clips, 13 Clamps, 13 Screws, 1 Ventilated Ridge Roll 6m and 10 Ridge Batten straps. This is suitable for up to 6m.
If the product is not installed correctly, the product could detatch from the verge leaving an opening for water ingress and nesting animals.
A ridge roll can be mecahncially fixed to the rafters before fitting the roofing underlay, battens and roof covering. The design is to be universal for rafter spacings between 400mm and 600mm.
It truly covers 6m lengths even when used with deep profiled tiles and this has been tested by the BRE.
