FAQ

Air Excellent Click-Seal ring

Yes. The connection can be disconnected if needed without damaging the components.

No. Both the seal and the secure connection are integrated into the Click-Seal ring, eliminating the need for additional sealing materials.

No special tools are required for the connection itself. Only standard duct preparation tools, such as the Air Excellent circular cutting tool, are recommended for clean duct cuts.

Manufacturers like Ubbink offer ducting already pre insulated so no need to do anything its already done for you; you can also purchase ISO sleeves to wrap semi rigid duct to ensure it complies with the regulations.

When the duct is inserted correctly, you will hear and feel an audible click. This confirms both the mechanical locking and airtight sealing are engaged

• You can check the ducts ATC rating, Air Tightness Classification:  only use duct rated 1. You can also do a Sniff Test on the duct, cheaper ducting emanates a plastic smell, this smell is transferred into the house something you do not want, on high quality ducting there is no smell.
You can also do the “Tug Of War “Test, let the manufacturer demonstrate how the system goes together and try to pull it apart cheaper systems will not maintain the connection, remember once this is in your ceilings and walls you do not want it to come apart.

Similarly, if you ever require you duct cleaning the integrity of the duct must be maintained whilst being cleaned, and not come apart once installed, using cheap ducting with poor connectivity could result in a disconnection which can be catastrophic and require major work inside your home to fix.

Semi Rigid duct is the easiest ducting to install, it comes on a roll and can be manipulated through walls and ceilings with ease, using rectangular plastic rigid duct is time consuming as the system is made up of hundreds of individual components. For rigid rectangular duct systems, each joint must be sealed with Non-Hardening Acrylic Sealant, and then taped this is time consuming and expensive.

Semi rigid duct comes in various shapes, sizes and varying quality, Ubbinks Air Excellence duct will last a lifetime, and holds an ATC 1 “Air Tightness Classification rating “this rating is the highest rating you can achieve which in essence means that once installed it will never require replacing.

Yes. The Click-Seal ring is designed for the Air Excellent circular ranges AE23C (63 mm), AE34C (75 mm), and AE48C (90 mm), allowing seamless integration with compatible accessories.

Yes. The Click-Seal ring is delivered pre-assembled in compatible Air Excellent accessories, reducing loose parts and simplifying installation.

Yes. The Click-Seal ring is designed to create an airtight seal in a single step. The patented technology ensures consistent and reliable performance that meets ATC1 airtightness requirements.

NO, Flexi duct should not be used with ventilation systems, using flexible ducting for primary runs on a Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system is discouraged because it severely impacts system efficiency, longevity, and performance. While easy to install, flexi-duct introduces significant resistance that can force the unit to work harder, reducing heat recovery effectiveness.

The Click-Seal ring is a patented connector for flexible air ducts. Previously, a click ring and a seal were separate components. These functions are now integrated into a single component, pre-installed in the accessory. The duct connection is completed securely with a single click.

We have gone from two components to one. The Click-Seal ring integrates both the click and sealing functions. The method remains the same, but the process is simpler: you only need to click the duct into the Air Excellent accessory. Essentially, you perform the same action, but in one step instead of several.

Semi rigid duct is easy to install, is more cost effective than Rigid Plastic Duct, requires no sealants to join together and will still maintain airflow with less airflow resistance
