How to Install the Contego Ventilation Wall Duct – Airtight and Watertight

Ubbink has recently introduced the Contego, a new wall duct designed for ventilation systems. One of its biggest advantages is the simple and efficient installation process. Below, we’ll walk you through the steps to ensure your Contego wall duct is fitted quickly, securely, and with a perfect airtight and watertight seal.

Contego Wall Terminal, Ventilation, new product

Step 1: Mark the Position

Begin by determining the correct placement for the duct. Mark the location carefully, keeping the required hole size in mind:

  • For a 200 mm duct, drill a 240 mm hole.
  • For a 180 mm duct, drill a 220 mm hole.
  • For a 160 mm duct, drill a 200 mm hole.

Step 2: Drill the Hole

Drill the hole at a 2-degree downward angle. This slight tilt prevents rainwater from entering the duct. Next, attach the Aerfoam duct to the mounting plate. Slide the complete assembly—mounting plate and Aerfoam duct—through the hole.

Step 3: Secure the Exterior Cover

Once the mounting plate is in position, attach the exterior cover. Simply click it into place and secure it with a screw. This ensures the cover remains firmly attached and provides protection from the elements.

Step 4: Create an Airtight Seal Inside

To finish, slide the airtight cuff over the Aerfoam duct on the inside of the wall. Secure it tightly with screws to eliminate any chance of air leakage.

Installation Recap

  1. Mark the duct location and drill the hole at a 2-degree angle.

  2. Attach the Aerfoam duct to the mounting plate, insert through the hole, and screw the plate to the wall.

  3. Fit the exterior cover onto the mounting plate, click to lock, and fasten with a screw.

  4. Slide the airtight cuff over the Aerfoam duct inside and screw it tight.

By following these four steps, your Contego wall duct will be properly installed—airtight, watertight, and ready to deliver reliable and efficient ventilation. With the right preparation, the installation process is straightforward and professional every time.
