Today: the bathroom, one of the wet rooms in your home where you want to get rid of moisture as quickly as possible.

A humid bathroom is a familiar problem for many home owners, They quickly suffer from steamed up windows or a steamed up mirror. The cause is usually a combination of too low a temperature and too high a humidity in the bathroom. 

Temperature

It is important to heat the bathroom well. More moisture 'fits' in warm air. Therefore, try to keep windows and ventilation grilles closed in the bathroom, especially in the winter, with MVHR as your chosen method of ventilation the bathroom along with all your wet rooms like kitchens and utility rooms are always focused upon and the level of moisture in all wet rooms is diluted as quickly as possible.

 

Humidity

When showering or bathing, a lot of moisture is naturally created in the bathroom air. People often think that the moisture is already out of the air as soon as the windows are no longer misted up. But then you can still have to deal with very high humidity, most bathroom fans will have an overrun feature fitted, so even when you have left the bathroom and turned the lights off the fan will still run normally for around 15 minutes to ensure all the humidity is dealt with.

If moisture is not properly removed it can build up and lead to problems such as mold, which can have adverse health effects, not only can this be detrimental to your health but also to the building’s fabric. 

It is therefore wise to monitor the humidity in the bathroom. If the humidity rises too much, your ventilation system must respond and run harder, this is how MVHR works, on board humidity sensors constantly monitor humidity and the ventilation unit will react, more moisture, the faster the unit will run, once the moisture is diluted the unit returns to a silent running mode.
